Both follow the same principles of professionalism, safety, environmental responsibility, and local guidance while differing primarily in flexibility and personalization.
Both experiences are subject to availability and require prior consultation.
Shared Experiences
The shared experiences follow a predefined structure to ensure the group's safety, cohesion, and the continuity of the itinerary.
The dates, daily activities, and overall program are fixed and cannot be changed.
This format is ideal for travelers who value an organized experience and are comfortable adapting to the group and the Amazonian environment.
Private Experiences
Private experiences offer a greater level of flexibility and personalization.
Within the limits set by safety, cultural respect, and environmental conditions, participants can adjust the pace of the tour, the areas of interest, and, in some cases, the duration of the experience.
This format is ideal for those seeking a more personalized experience.
UNDERSTANDING GATEWAY EXPERIENCES
Gateway Experiences are designed to introduce travelers to the Peruvian Amazon through professionally guided rainforest adventures that remain accessible to a wide variety of travelers.
Unlike our Hunter-Led Expeditions—which take place in remote Indigenous territories rarely visited by outsiders—Gateway Experiences operate in established regions of the Amazon where responsible ecotourism has existed for many years.
This means that while you'll still explore beautiful rivers, rainforest trails, blackwater lagoons, wildlife habitats, and traditional communities, you may occasionally encounter other travelers, boats, or local tour operators during portions of your journey.
These encounters are a normal part of responsible tourism in these regions and do not diminish the authenticity, educational value, or natural beauty of the experience.
Whenever possible, our trusted local collaborators select quieter routes, less-visited areas, and schedules designed to provide a greater sense of immersion while maintaining safety, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency.
