Daily Itinerary

Day 1 – Journey to the Birthplace of the Amazon

Depart from Iquitos by road to Nauta before continuing by boat into the Yarapa River region.

Along the journey, visit the confluence where the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers unite to form the mighty Amazon River. Keep watch for pink and gray river dolphins before arriving at the jungle eco-lodge.

After sunset, venture into the rainforest on a guided night walk to discover tarantulas, insects, amphibians, snakes, and the remarkable sounds of the Amazon after dark.

Day 2 – Immersion in the Rainforest

Wake before sunrise for birdwatching, when the rainforest is at its most active.

Later, explore jungle trails while learning about medicinal plants and the remarkable biodiversity of the Amazon. Throughout the day there are excellent opportunities to observe monkeys, sloths, colorful birds, and other native wildlife.

After dinner, head back onto the river in search of caimans during a peaceful nighttime boat excursion.

Day 3 – Farewell to the Jungle

Enjoy a traditional piranha fishing experience using local techniques before returning to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, begin the journey back to Iquitos, concluding your Gateway Experience.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1 – Prehistoric Guardians

Your journey begins with a land transfer from Iquitos to Nauta, followed by a boat journey along the Marañón River into the Yarapa River region. Along the way, visit the famous confluence where the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers join to form the Amazon River.

Observe the remarkable hoatzin bird, often considered one of the world's most prehistoric bird species, before arriving at the eco-lodge.

As night falls, venture into the rainforest to discover a completely different side of the Amazon.
