The Yarapa Comunity Reserve has been formally recognized by INRENA, the Peruvian government's national parks division. The Yarapa River is located in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. The area is the subject of scientific research, as well as being a tourist destination. This river is also home to many species of caimans.
IMPORTANT TIPS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR TRIP:
BOOKING IN ADVANCED IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (for collection of personal information, government access permits to protected areas, transportation arrangements, assignment of exploration team, English Speaking Guides availability, and all logistics support needed).
Participants need to have sufficient time in Iquitos, in order to successfully execute the selected expedition.
By choosing to travel with AMAZON EXPEDITIONERS you're booking a PRIVATE TRIP, and since it belongs to you and your group only, we're always open to adjustments as far as the start and ending time of your trip. This way we can make travel easier for your group based on your flight schedule.
In case of other travelers wanting to join your group, we'll request your permission first, you’ll have the final decision.
For some exploration hikes, participants may and may not be able to leave their personal backpacks behind at our daily designated campsites, so please take into account that in addition to your personal backpacks, you'll be provided with your own exploratory gear (jungle boots, raincoats, mats, and tents) for you to carry and take care of during your entire trip. This is why we always like to advise participants and emphasize them that in order to maximize the experience of your trip, you all have to be somehow in a decent physical condition for some of our long lasting explorations excursions.

What To Experience On Your River Navigation:
Pass and stop for instructional orientation right in the encounter of (3) Major Rivers, The Maranon River, The Ucayali River, and The Amazon River. IT IS AT THIS POINT WHERE IT IS KNOWN AS THE BEGINNING OF THE AMAZON RIVER, WHICH IT ENDS DISCHARGING ITS WATERS IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN.
Navigation will continue upstream through The Ucayali River.
Navigation will change its course to enter The Yarapa River.
Observation of fauna and flora will take place during this entire navigation.
14:00 Arrival to “Puerto Miguel Village”, Lunch will be served at arrival.
15:00 Boat excursion in search of pink river dolphins, observation of sunset, and swimming in the river (optional).
17:30 Return to Puerto Miguel.
