Pre Shamanism Diet 

The contact with Medicine depends, to a great extent, on preparing the body with a responsible and conscious diet.

The ritual framework of the ceremony begins in the days before the shoot, where the body, mind, and heart are prepared, adjusting to a vegetarian diet. It is advisable to work with the humble intention of learning without having many expectations and with great respect for the sacred space to which one is going to have access.




It is necessary to observe a rigorous vegetarian diet, strictly 3 days before and after the ceremony. Preferably 7 days or more in advance.

This must abstain without exception, all kinds of meat, alcohol and synthetic or natural drugs. The experts also recommend to do the same by stopping all sexual relations. If the person is medicated, any type of compound should consult to verify their compatibility.



Suspend 7 days before:

  • All types of alcoholic beverages.

  • If you usually drink more than 3 times a week, it should be discontinued at least 15 days in advance.

  • If you start to get the flu or cold do NOT take any flu medications during this period.

  • Medication that acts on the Central Nervous System.

Foods prohibited without exception for at least 3 days:

  • Meat in any presentation: Pork, Chicken, and Seafood.

  • Pharmaceutical Medication.

The foods to avoid (moderate your intake):

  • All products with caffeine: Coffee, green tea, black tea, chocolate, cola.

  • It is highly recommended to suspend the intake of beef and fish. If it is not possible to stop eating, you can eat white fish.

  • Strong and aged cheeses: Gruyere, Goat, Green, Roquefort, etc.

  • Fried foods.

  • Junk food.

  • Canned food.

  • Sugars in excess.

  • Refreshments with artificial sugar.

Recommended foods:

  • Cereals.

  • Fruits.

  • Legumes.

  • Rice.

  • Pasta.

  • Mushrooms.

  • Juices, preferably natural.

  • Indian vegetarian food, Hare Krishna, etc.

  • Dairy products.

  • Cheese, soft and fresh.

  • Any of those not mentioned above.

  • Vitamins that do NOT contain Gingko Biloba, Gingsen or a precursor of dopamine.

  • Sea salt or mountain salt.

Allowed Foods:

  • Salad dressing, preferably natural.

  • Yogurt and lactose products to restore the intestinal flora.

Allowed medication:

  • For diabetes.

  • High blood pressure (which does not act directly in the central nervous system).

  • Thyroid regulators.



Restrictions on Participation
Participation in the taking of Ayahuasca and Kambo is restricted to pregnant women, people with cardiovascular, cardiac problems, severe hypertension, psychopathologies, certain psychiatric diagnoses, fractures or recent surgeries, acute infectious diseases, epilepsy and/or combination with any type of drug. (natural or synthetic).

Those people who are in treatment with:
Antidepressants: SSRIs, MAOS; pills to lose weight, antihypertensive, asthma and flu medications, antifungals, nervous system depressants. These medications should be discontinued at least 15 days before the intake.

In the case of psychiatric medication or that act in the central nervous system, it is absolutely necessary to consult.​
