IMPORTANT TIPS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR TRIP:

  • BOOKING IN ADVANCED IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (for collection of personal information, government access permits to protected areas, transportation arrangements, assignment of the exploration team, English Speaking Guides availability, and all logistics support needed).

  • Be advised that you are booking a PRIVATE TRIP on this page, and since this trip belongs to you and your group only, we'll be open for adjustments as far as the start and ending time of your trip. This way we can make travel easier for you or group based on your flight schedule.

  • Ensure to have sufficient time in Iquitos, in order to successfully execute the selected expedition.

  • We highly recommend bringing an exploratory backpack of 10 kilos maximum per participant.

  • Be advised that each participant will be provided with the following additional gear (jungle boots, raincoats, sleeping mats, and tents) 5 kilos approx.

  • Participants will not be always required to carry their exploratory backpacks with them in comparison to the AMAZON CROSSING EXPEDITIONS.

  • Now, remember what plays in your favor, and don't be disappointed! This trip belongs to you and your group only; we will always go at your pace.

  • All activities are subject to change due to weather conditions at any time of the year. Main Rivers and tributary levels may vary and thus navigation times and excursions may need to be modified at the guide’s discretion, this will not alter our motivation to make this trip the best as possible.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1 
08:00 Private Transportation from Iquitos City to Nauta City (1:40 hrs.).

  • A private motorboat from Nauta to Native Communities (3 hrs.).

  • Entrance permit to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.

  • Boat to the camping area (2 hrs.)

  • Set up camp.

  • Observation of wildlife.

  • Nocturnal exploration.

 

(Overnight in Camping Tents).

 

 

DAY 2-4

05:30 Boat navigation upstream to a new camping area (3 hrs.)

  • Bird watching.

  • Set up camp.

  • Piranha fishing (Serrasalmus nattereri).

  • Hike in the primary jungle in search of more wildlife.

  • Identification of medicinal plants.

  • Nocturnal explorations in search of tarantulas and other insects.

  • Water drinking from forest vines “Soga de agua”.

  • Searching for giant trees, the largest of the jungle "Lupuna" and other species.

  • Jungle exploration in search of Creeks and Lagoons to increase the chances to find more Wildlife.

  • Canoe excursion on Creeks and Lagoons.

  • Excursion in search of primates.

  • Identification of animal tracks.

  • Construction of animal traps to catch (small rodents and birds for survival purposes).

  • Nocturnal exploration in the search of alligators and other animals.

       (caimans catch and release activity will be performed if small caimans are found).

DAY 5
05:00 Boat excursion to a remote lake (3 hrs.)

  • Bird watching.

  • Search for pink dolphins.

  • Construction of personal flotation devices to enjoy the fun of drifting downstream (optional).

  • Visit a local village or continue with the exploration. 

  • Buying handicrafts from villagers (optional).

  • Return by motorboat to Nauta City (3 hrs). 

  • Private Transportation from Nauta City to Iquitos City (1:40 hrs). 

 

17:00-18:00 Arrival to Iquitos.

  • Transfer to the hotel/airport (End of the Journey).
