Our INTRO TO AMAZON SURVIVAL 5D/4N, It is simply a short introduction to Amazon survival, a trip that is intended for travelers who have a limited time in the region or perhaps on a tight travel budget, but still want to receive a native survival experience within the depths of the Amazon. 

 

We recommend to all participants to always bear in mind that any expedition that our team leads within a very familiar and common environment of ours, and also the levels of difficulty that may seem moderate and normal to us, for those who are not accustomed to this complex terrain could give the impression of being very hard or extreme.

 

 

IMPORTANT TIPS ABOUT YOUR EXPEDITION:

  • BOOKING IN ADVANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (for collection of personal information, government access permits to protected areas, transportation arrangements, exploration team assignments, English Speaking Guides availability, and all logistics support needed).

  • Participants need to have sufficient time in Iquitos, in order to successfully execute this training evolution.

  • AMAZON EXPEDITIONERS will provide the following gear to each participant (jungle boots, machete, rain ponchos, mats, tactical tents) 5 kilos approx.

  • Explorations through the jungle during this evolution, will require for each participant to carry their own personal gear and, to maximize your experience be at the least in a decent physical condition to accomplish each available activity.

  • Weather conditions will not be an obstacle for the completion of every scheduled survival activity.

BRIEF EVOLUTION DETAILS:

 

⬜ DAY 0

  • Private transportation from Iquitos Airport to Hotel.

 

⬜ DAY 1 DEPARTURE

  • 07:00 Transportation pickup from Iquitos hotel or airport in route to Nauta City River Port (1 hr 45)

  • 09:00 Arrival to Nauta City River Port

  • 10:00 River Navigation downstream on the Maranon River, and upstream on the Ucayali River in Route to the jungle.

  • Lunch on board.

  • 13:00 - 14:00 Arrival to Training Jungle Site.

  • All instructors and participants will immediately initiate their survival evolution once they are finally at the main starting location point.

  • Our team will only count with just a few days ahead on the agenda to quickly instruct and execute as we progressively advance through the jungle to accomplished the most basic, effective and clear demonstration of all the main basic concepts of survival, very essential local indigenous techniques available to keep us safe and alive (positive mental attitude, first aid, fire, shelter, water, food, signaling).

 

 

⬜ DAY 1-4 HANDS-ON SURVIVAL INTRO

The Following Training Activities will be Conducted:

  • Mental and Physical Preparation

  • Indigenous Medicine

  • Obtainment of fire by natural means.

  • Crossing of rivers

  • Construction of shelters

  • Artisanal Fishing

  • Construction of traps

  • Obtainment of water from nature

  • Jungle navigation techniques

  • Construction of rafts and other floating devices
     

⬜ DAY 5 RETURN ​​

12:00 Arrival to the conjunction of the Tahuayo River with the Amazon River.

13:00-14:00 Arrival at Tamshiyacu Town.

  • Lunch in Tamshiyacu Town.

14:30-15:00 Speedboat trip back to Iquitos City.

  • 1 hr river navigation to finish the crossing of the Amazon River.

 

16:00-17:00 Arrival to Iquitos river port.

  • Transfer to hotel/airport (End of Trip).
