Our AMAZON SURVIVAL 14 DAYS, is a trip that will briefly review and evaluate during its first initial days the existing abilities that each participant has. Without wasting much time the trip will evolve rapidly with the only vision of crossing the complexity of the jungle, crossing that will have to be successfully completed on the pre-established days, which will include the navigation of the Amazon by land and and water, through challenging  jungle terrain of little exploration.

 

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • BOOKING IN ADVANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (for collection of personal information, government access permits to protected areas, transportation arrangements, exploration team assignments, English Speaking Guides availability, and all logistics support needed).

  • Participants need to have sufficient time in Iquitos in order to successfully execute this training evolution. We recommend arriving at least one day before the commencement of your training and have one full day minimum after the end.

  • Participants will be provided with an additional 5 kilos of gear approx. (machetes, rubber boots, mosquito netting, rain ponchos and eating utensils)

  • This training evolution is only open to highly motivated participants with a strong adaptation capabilities and who are in good physical and mental condition, as they will be responsible for carrying their own equipment on each exploration hike through the primary jungle, as well as to go far and beyond for their own survival needs.

  • Weather conditions will not be an obstacle for the completion of every scheduled survival activity.

ROUGH SURVIVAL DETAILS:

 

DAY 0

  • Private transportation from Iquitos Airport to Hotel.

 

​⬜ DAY 1 DEPARTURE

07:30 Pick up from Hotel to the AMAZON EXPEDITIONERS Office.

  • Breakfast with the team/safety brief and final gear adjustments.

08:30 Departure to Nauta City River Port (1hr 45min).

10:30 Arrival at Nauta City River Port.

  • River Navigation downstream on the Maranon River, and upstream on the Ucayali River en route to a Survival drop-off location.

14:00 Arrival to drop off location.

 

DAY 1-5 REFRESHMENT PHASE  

During this training refreshment phase instructors will briefly and meticulously reinforce over several basic and advanced Amazonian indigenous survival knowledge, to fully prepare everyone for the upcoming days on the following phase.

 

DAY 6-14 ISOLATION PHASE 

During the following Isolation Days, participants will only carry a machete in hand and use everything they had learned from the instructors on prior days. At this point, it could be just you or if lucky when larger groups are present, yourself paired up with your buddy to your very own stretch of jungle to survive in. You will be given a series of tasks to complete, in order to survive and make yourself as comfortable as you can. As your land navigation makes progress positively, instructors will be supervising you with some bush food rewards to keep you going if necessary.

 

DAY 9 

Estimated Day of  Arrival to Amancio.

  • Construction of a personal raft to escape from the jungle to be utilized from "DAY 10-14".

  • Overnight in Amancio right at the riverbanks of the Tahuayo River.

 

DAY 10-14

Navigation downstream through the Tahuayo River in search of the Amazon River.

 

During these 4-5 days river navigation, participants will carry onboard their own food supplies smartly collected while in the jungle.

 

*** The main purpose of this navigation will be to find an exit to the Amazon River looking for an escape through the Tahuayo River, considering this encounter of rivers as the RESCUE POINT. Participants will make every effort to be helped by any merchant navigator or native fishermen bound for the city of Iquitos or its surroundings.

14:00 Estimated Time of Arrival at Tamshiyacu Town aided by a small motorboat.

  • Lunch in Tamshiyacu Town.

15:00 Speedboat trip back to Iquitos City.

16:00 Arrival at Iquitos City River Port.

16:00-17:00 Private transportation back to hotel/airport.
